Rep Katie Porter (D) made a point during a discussion about actions taken by Twitter in censoring "hate" that being a p*do is just a person's identity, the same way being straight or gay is, and they shouldn't be treated as criminals.

She claimed by labeling them as criminals is a DANGER to the safety of LGBTQ people online.

Was I wrong in assuming that this all looks like a way to normalize one of the most heinous crimes a human being can commit, while using the LGBTQ community as some sort of woke shield against the criticism?
